On October 19th 2018, in in the main lecture hall of the Nalecz Institute of Biocybernetics of Biomedical Engineering, the ceremony for the inauguration of the Academic Year 2018/2019 of the Ochota Biocentre took place. During the ceremony, the directors of individual Institutes presented ‘doctorate cum laude’ awards for the authors of the best doctoral dissertations in the last academic year.
On October 10th 2018, the winners of the ‘Golden Scalpel 2018’ competition have been announced. 2nd place has been awarded to the BIONIC PANCREAS project carried out by the consortium: Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology (Prof. Agnieszka Dobrzyń), Foundation of Research and Innovation (dr hab. Michał Wszoła), Warsaw Technical University (prof. Wojcech Święszkowski), Warsaw Medical University (prof. Artur Kamiński), Research Hospital of Baby Jesus, and Medispace Sp.z o.o.
On 15 October 2018 in Wrocław the President of Academia Europaea, Professor Sierd Cloetingh and the Mayor of Wrocław, Rafał Dutkiewicz signed an official Framework Agreement for the Continuation of Academia Europaea Knowledge Hub in Wrocław for another two years.
