Prof. Andrzej Gałęski from the Centre of Molecular and Macromolecular Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Łódź has won the 2018 Foundation for Polish Science Prize in the field of chemical and material sciences for developing a new mechanism for plastic deformation of polymers.
The European Commission and Germany co-hosted the 2nd Arctic Science Ministerial on 25-26 October 2018 in Berlin. This meeting brought together science ministers, EU representatives, researchers and representatives of international organizations and Arctic Indigenous peoples. First such meeting was initiated by the President of the United States Barack Obama and held at the White House in September 2016.
On 22-23 October 2018, the Estonian Academy of Science held a conference “Advisory Role of Academies in the Information-Rich Society” in the headquarters of the Academy in Tallinn.
