FNP Announces New Programme for Polish Ukrainian Scientific Cooperation

In connection with the tragic events in Ukraine, the Foundation for Polish Science (FNP) decided to launch a new initiative: the Polish-Ukrainian Cooperation Programme. The FNP will finance up to six scientific projects in the field of social sciences and humanities carried out jointly by a pair of scientists from Poland and Ukraine. The budget of each project for the period of 12 months is PLN 268 800, which includes both salaries and research-related costs.

The programme is addressed to scientists with a doctoral degree, who regardless of nationality, on the day the war in Ukraine began, namely February 24, 2022, worked at institutions conducting scientific research in Ukraine and scientists employed at institutions that conduct scientific research in Poland.

 

The call for proposals is launched within two competitions with the following deadlines:

  • by April 29, 2022, until 4:00 p.m. CET (1st competition) or
  • by September 30, 2022, until 4:00 p.m. CET (2nd competition).

For Ukraine’s Science - Marius Jakulis Jason foundation

MJJ Foundation, Marius Jakulis Jason foundation establishes the funds to support the Ph.D. students, Postdoc researchers and scientists from Ukraine who are looking for safe relocation opportunities in Lithuania until it is safe to return and strengthen their country.

Duration of the stay in the Lithuanian universities and research centers –  up to 8 months with possibility of extension, if necessary.

MJJ Foundation will provide a monthly remuneration of EUR 1,000 for relocation and living expenses (before taxes).

ERC for Ukraine: jobs for researchers fleeing the war

The European Research Council (ERC) has appealed to its grantees to provide temporary employment to refugee researchers and support staff, such as technician and lab managers, from Ukraine. The ERC has contacted all its 5,600 current grantees and is collecting information on possible job opportunities. This data will be compiled and progressively published on the ERC website and other channels. The initiative follows the ERC Scientific Council’s statementin support of Ukraine and its research community.
