From the Chinese side the meeting was attended by 10 guests: Prof. Zhang Yaping, Vice-President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, representatives of the CAS General Office and Bureau of International Cooperation, prominent researchers from the CAS Institutes, as well as Mr. Guo Dongbo and Ms. Zhang Lin from the Chinese Embassy in Warsaw.

During the meeting, both organizations presented the scope of their scientific activities and briefly discussed the current projects led jointly by Polish and Chinese researchers. They also addressed the opportunities for further cooperation such as mobility programs, grants, projects, scholarships etc.

Moreover, the participants discussed the possibility of undertaking a joint workshop/conference in the area of mutual interest such as i.a. climate change, hydrology, sustainable development. It has been also stated that both institutions, as well as the Embassy should pay closer attention to the promotion of already existing cooperation opportunities between Polish and Chinese scientists. They all constitute a very good potential, however they need to be made more visible to researchers. According to participants’ opinion, one of the solutions to this problem could be creating and administration of a joint website with up-to-date guidelines for researchers, presenting all current opportunities for cooperation at one place –programs, projects, calls, scholarships with deadlines and practical information.
