The 5th IAHR European Congress
The 5th IAHR European Congress entitled "New challenges in hydraulic research and engineering" was held on 12-14 June 2018 in Trento, Italy.

The congress was organized by the University of Trento and IAHR / AIRH. It brought together many representatives of science and hydraulic community, including Prof. Paweł M. Rowiński, PAS Vice President, who was elected Vice Chair of the IAHR Europe Division Executive Committee for the period 2018-2020.
The congress aims to provide a forum where scientists, especially early career researchers, can present their work and discuss their ideas with experts in all fields of hydraulics. The issues discussed during the congress concerned, among others: hydraulics, hydrology, fluids mechanics and hydraulic constructions and also eco hydraulics, the ecology of aquatic environments, bio fluids, new strategies of defense against extreme events and the effects of climate changes. The congress proceedings will be available from the IAHR website in the coming weeks. The next 6. IAHR European Congress will take place in 2020 in Warsaw, Poland.
