Every year, in the competition organized by PIASt, 12 foreign researchers at different stages of their careers receive funding to conduct their research in the field of humanities and social sciences at the PIASt institute. Fellowships are awarded in two categories: senior for professors and experienced researchers and junior for postdocs. Polish researchers who have not worked in Poland for more than 6 months in the last three years may also apply for funding.

The PIASt fellowship program aims to support the development of knowledge and innovation and promote scientific progress in Poland. During their stay in Poland, PIASt fellows conduct their own research, network with scholars in their area of experience and participate in Polish scientific life by giving lectures and participating in conferences and seminars organized by PAS institutes. As part of their projects, they organize seminars with the participation of Polish and foreign guests.

The Polish Institute of Advanced Studies supports researchers who want to carry out projects in the fields of humanities and social sciences, including cross-sectional projects from an interdisciplinary perspective. The main goal of the institute is to promote scientific and intellectual exchange and to create an international and interdisciplinary community of high-level scholars who gather for the period of the academic year to discuss and exchange views.

The call for applications is open till October 31, 2021. All applications must be submitted through online application system.
