Polish coronavirus test developed by PAS scientists ready for production

The test was developed at the PAS Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry in Poznań. This is a great success of young researchers who have been voluntarily working in the laboratory day and night for the last three weeks. The request for registration has already been submitted. Thanks to a subsidy from the Ministry of Science the production will start in the coming days.

The SARS-CoV-2 test is based entirely on the reagents produced by Polish manufacturers, including those used at the Poznań Institute. Thanks to that, Polish coronavirus test will be much cheaper than foreign equivalents available on the market.

Developing the test took three weeks to our researchers. Thanks to financial support from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education – the production process may start any day now. For a start 100,000 tests will be produced.

The new tests have already been successfully validated by the National Institute of Hygiene (PZH). An application for test registration has also been submitted.

Medicofarma will take care of production.
