The representatives of Polish and Spanish companies, and researchers from PAS, Silesian University of Technology, CMI and RAI used this opportunity to present different perspectives on coal industry in Europe. The participants raised a number of issues during the working sessions including: the future of coal and clean coal technologies in the context of climate and energy policy, the need for diversification of energy sources and sustainable development of energy systems, as well as the new technological developments in Poland and in Spain. During the second day of the workshop the participants visited the technological site of the Centre of Clean Coal Technologies and the Barbara Experimental Mine in Mikołów.
