Science: Polish Perspectives (SPP) is a series of events connecting Polish scientific diaspora all over the world. Community of Polish scientists working abroad met in Berlin during SPP Meetup Berlin 2017 on 13-14 October 2017.

This event gathered over one hundred Polish scientists from all over Germany, Austria and Switzerland making it possible for researchers, PhD students and science-oriented entrepreneurs to present their projects, exchange experiences and networking. Apart from young, outstanding scientists and special guests, the representatives of Polish state institutions and grant agencies, including the Polish Academy of Sciences, Foundation for Polish Sciences, National Science Centre and Polish Development Fund participated in the meeting and organised a special workshop on research opportunities in Poland.

On 3-4 November 2017 in Cambridge the Polonium Foundation organised the sixth edition of the conference Science: Polish Perspectives 2017 (SPP2017) to which Polish scientists working at universities all over the world were invited to talk about their research projects. The conference attracted 250 researchers from 11 countries. The Polish Academy of Sciences was represented during this event by dr Anna Plater-Zyberk, director of the International Cooperation Department, who delivered a presentation entitled “Research Funding Landscape in Poland” and by Ms Ewa Kuśmierczyk and Ms Marta Kowol who presented the Excellence in Science Department of the PAS. Dr Anna Plater-Zyberk participated also in the debate on the perspectives for Polish science in the context of the Act 2.0.
