Polish Academy of Sciences on the “Sustainability and Resilience” conference in Budapest

Representatives of the Polish Academy of Sciences participated in the conference entitled “Sustainability and Resilience”, which was held on 3-6 September 2017. The event was organised by Academia Europaea, ALLEA (All European Academies), the Young Academy of Europe, and the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, which opened its palace to the guests of all meetings.

Many panel discussions and scientific workshops took place during this event. On the first day of the conference Prof. Jerzy Duszyński led a panel discussion on “Perspectives on Inclusiveness in ERC Competitions by the European Federation of Academies of Sciences and Humanities”, while Dr. Anna Ajduk, Chair of the Polish Young Academy, talked about the activities of this organisation during the meeting of the representatives of other European young academies. The conference was attended by world-renowned scholars including Prof. Helga Nowotny from Vienna Science and Technology Fund and Prof. Andreu Mas-Colell from Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, as well as Robert-Jan Smits, Director General for Research and Innovation and presidents of 40 European academies of sciences.
