„ERC Mentoring Initiative” Workshop in Vienna (14-15 June 2019)
The Institute for Human Sciences (Institut für die Wissenschaften vom Menschen, IWM) and Polish Academy of Sciences are inviting researchers to take part in „ERC Mentoring Initiative” workshop in Vienna on 14-15 June 2019. The event is supported by Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
The workshop is addressed to researchers representing humanities and social sciences, who are preparing an application for European Research Council (ERC) Starting (2-7 years after PhD) or Consolidator Grants (7-12 years after PhD).
The initiative will be devoted to developing and improving the research idea of the researcher’s ERC project. During the two-day workshop the prospective applicants will have the opportunity to present their research ideas and discuss it with invited experts. The ERC experts (panelists such as prof. Shalini Randeria, prof. Balázs Trencsényi, prof. Josef Ehmer and laureates, like dr. Börries Kuzmany) will share with the participants their experience and expertise in preparation of the successful proposal. The workshop will be conducted in English.
There is no participation fee and the organizers will cover all travel expenses, while the PAS Scientific Centre in Vienna will provide the participants with accommodation for the duration of the workshop.
The number of participants is limited – PAS has at its disposal 5 places for researchers planning to apply for ERC grants with any Polish institution. The applicants will be informed about the outcome of the selection process by 24 May 2019.
