Since 2010 Polish scientific institutions together with industrial partners have been participating in the integration of research infrastructures program for Earth sciences (EPOS – European Plate Observing System). EPOS is a scientific project enabling a better understanding of the earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, ground instability and tsunamis as well as other geo-hazards, including exploitation of deposits with potentially serious impact on the environment and the well-being of the European societies.

The European Commission has accepted the transformation of the program into a European consortium EPOS-ERIC, which on November 8 officially has begun its activity.

We invite you to the first scientific-technical conference devoted to the EPOS – European Plate Observing System (EPOS-PL) project. The conference, co-financed by the European Union, will be held at the Windsor Hotel in Jachranka, Poland on 19-21 November 2018.

The meeting serves to facilitate further integration of research infrastructures related to the Earth sciences and to strengthen cooperation and boost knowledge transfer from scientific institutions to other sectors of the Polish economy.
