Nomination for the position of the director of the Nencki Institute

On February 1st, 2018 Prof. Agnieszka Dobrzyń was nominated for the position of the Director of the Nencki Institute. The nomination was signed by the President of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Prof. Jerzy Duszyński, which came about as a result of an open recruitment procedure.

Agnieszka DobrzyńProf. Dobrzyń’s scientific interest is focused on regulation of gene expression and signaling pathways that have far-reaching implications on cell metabolism and human metabolic diseases, i.e. type 2 diabetes and related dysfunctions. She is a co-author of 77 scientific publications that were cited 2329 times (h=27) to date. In 2016 Prof. A. Dobrzyń received an Award for Outstanding Scientific Achievements awarded by the Minister of Science and Higher Education. She has also been awarded numerous prestigious grants including EMBO-Installation Grant, TEAM grant (FNP), Sonata-Bis grant (NCN), Marie Sklodowska Curie COFUND grant (Horizon 2020), STRATEGMED (NCBiR). Since 2015 prof. A. Dobrzyń has been the Chair of the "Mobility Plus" interdisciplinary Expert Panel of the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education, and since 2017 she has served as the Chair of the Life Sciences (LS7) Expert Panel of European Research Council (ERC) starting grants in Brussels.
