From 3 to 14 December 2018 Katowice, Poland will host the most important global forum devoted to the climate policy – the 2018 UN Climate Summit. About 20 thousand people from 190 countries will take part in the event, including political leaders, activists, representatives of non-governmental organizations, scientific community and business sector. This year’s UN Climate Summit will be accompanied by a joint symposium – Safeguarding Our Climate, Advancing Our Society – held on 10 December 2018 and co-organized by the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Pontifical Academy of Sciences and the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS). The conference will bring together eminent scientists and representatives of religious communities who will respectively address the questions on the state of the art in climate change research and the ethical aspects of climate change.
