Prof. Paweł Rowiński re-elected to the new ALLEA Board
Professor Paweł Rowiński, vice-president of the Polish Academy of Sciences, has been elected to the board of All European Academies (ALLEA) for the third time. The new board’s term of office runs up until 2024. Congratulations!
The ALLEA Board consists of eight scientists. It is elected biannually by the General Assembly. The announcement was made on 11 May during ALLEA’s business meeting in Brussels.
Prof. Paweł Rowiński is a member and vice-president of the Polish Academy of Sciences. He is an expert in hydrology and hydrodynamics associated with the PAS Institute of Geophysics. He authored over 170 scientific publications. His research interests focus, among others, on statistical methods in hydrology, intelligent data analysis, river turbulence and climate change.

ALLEA, established in 1994, is the European Federation of Academies of Sciences and Humanities. It brings together 61 academies from 40 countries in Europe. Polish Academy of Sciences is one of its founding members. In 2000, the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences from Krakow also joined the organization.
