Knowledge Frontiers Symposium

The Symposium will take place over a series of dates in November and December 2021. It will focus on transitions in the political and economic sphere.

The call is addressed to early career researchers (up to seven years after receiving a PhD) based in Poland and the United Kingdom. The event will bring together around 30 young scientists, who will discuss key questions around the theme of the “Just Transitions”. By just transitions we mean all kinds of social and economic challenges that may accompany the transitions to environmentally sustainable ways of living.

The Symposium will encompass a range of virtual research activities that will facilitate cross-disciplinary and international discussion, networking, knowledge exchange, and long-term cooperation. In order to encourage networking, participants who will take part in at least 75% of virtual sessions may apply for seed funding from the British Academy. Participation at the Symposium is not a guarantee of funding.

Sessions will take place on November 23-24, November 30, December 2, and December 8-9, 2021. Each session will last one hour.

The deadline for submissions is July 21, 2021 at 17.00 (UK time). Applications must be submitted online using British Academy’s Grant Management System (GMS), Flexi-Grant.

For more details on the upcoming symposium and application procedure please see the website of the British Academy.
