PAS Vice-President Prof. Paweł Rowiński in the SAPEA Board

Professor Paweł Rowiński, Vice-President of the Polish Academy of Sciences, became the alternate (deputy) member of the SAPEA Board. In SAPEA, Prof. Rowiński will serve as the representative of the European Federation of Academies of Sciences and Humanities.


Science Advice for Policy by European Academies (SAPEA) brings together experts from over one 100 academies and learned societies across Europe. Its tasks include providing independent scientific advice to European Commissioners and strengthening the links between Europe’s academies and Academy Networks. SAPEA is part of the European Commission's Scientific Advice Mechanism and has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 program. Its board consists of six presidents and eight alternates.

As alternate member, Prof. Paweł Rowiński will represent the European Federation of Academies of Sciences and Humanities (ALLEA), to which the Polish Academy of Sciences belongs.
