Arctic world within reach

What is life like in remote polar research station? A foretaste of it one can get watching “A year in the Arctic” 3D mapping on the Wilanów Palace façade. The first illumination will take place on Saturday, October 17.

The show presents the surroundings of the Polish Polar Station Hornsund and seasonal landscape changes on Svalbard archipelago. Polish polar station is supervised by the Department of Polar and Marine Research of the PAS Institute of Geophysics. The projection – “ A  year in the Arctic” – has been created as part of the EDU-ARCTIC. PL project, founded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education within DIALOG program.

The premiere mapping is planned for October 17. It will be precede by a lecture entitled “Mystery of glaciers’ interior”, which starts at 6.30 pm at the Wilanów Orangery. Prior registration for the lecture is required.
