Prof. Janusz Kacprzyk joins EURASC

Prof. Janusz Kacprzyk from the Systems Research Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences has been elected a member of the European Academy of Sciences (EURASC). EURASC, based in Brussels, is one of the largest and most prestigious pan-European academies of sciences.

Janusz Kacprzyk, is a professor of computer science and head of the Laboratory of Intelligent Systems at the PAS Systems Research Institute. He is an internationally known expert in artificial intelligence tools, such as fuzzy sets, and the application of fuzzy logic in databases, decision support systems, control and decision making under uncertainty and lack of precision, fuzzy information representation and processing, evolutionary programming and neural networks. These tools are tested, among others in databases, information and communications technologies (ICT) and mobile robotics.

European Academy of Sciences – EURASC

Professor Kacprzyk has joined the prestigious group of about 600 of the most accomplished and talented scientists and engineers performing forefront research and the development of advanced technologies associated in the European Academy of Sciences (EURASC).

EURASC is an international, independent organization promoting basic research and scientific excellence. It aims at strengthening European science and scientific cooperation. Among its distinguished members is also Prof. Małgorzata Witko, director of the PAS Institute of Catalysis and Surface Chemistry in Krakow, who has joined EURASC in 2018.
