Applied Geotechnical Engineering conference planned for April 2020

What are the latest trends related to geomechanics and geotechnics in mining? What are the biggest challenges for post-mining areas in the context of the environment? The Strata Mechanics Research Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences invites you to an international scientific conference.

The event will take place on April 27-28, 2020 in International Cultural Center in Krakow. The organizers invite scientists, students, local authorities as well as representatives of industry and design offices.

Participants will discuss problems of post-mining areas, underground and tunnel construction, monitoring and geotechnical research, as well as geomechanics in mining.

During the meeting a special session will be held entitled "3rd Knothe Scientific Conference" which will be an opportunity to highlight the scientific achievements of Prof. Stanisław Knothe, mining expert and ordinary member of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

The "Applied Geotechnical Engineering" conference will be entirely conducted in English. Online registration is open till April 13. For more information, please visit the conference web site.
