Professor Leszek Kaczmarek was elected the President of the EMBC (European Molecular Biology Conference). Congratulations!

EMBC is an inter-governmental organization comprising 30 Member States including most of the European Union, and some of the neighbouring countries. It provides a framework for European co-operation in the field of molecular biology financially supporting the training and career development of scientists in this field. EMBC programme, which is implemented through the European Organisation for Molecular Biology (EMBO), focuses primarily on the provision of training, teaching and research scholarships and on the establishment of programmes for courses, workshops in the life sciences.

Professor Leszek Kaczmarek is a well-recognized expert in the field of brain functioning. Author of over 200 publications published in renowned scientific journals, cited over 9,000 times by other researchers. He is an ordinary member of the Polish Academy of Sciences and head of the Laboratory of Neurobiology at the PAS Institute of Experimental Biology.
